So I meant to blog all of the Deep South Road Trip before I got into NYC, but now that I've jumped around anyway I'll finish up New York before heading back south to your regularly scheduled Louisiana adventure.

I'd been wanting to eat at Prune for a good long time after having seen this post about the very avocado sandwich pictured above. We tried to reserve for dinner with a group of ten people, which, once you know it's a thirty-seat restaurant, understandably didn't work out so well. Happily, Amanda, Heather, and I were able to go for lunch the following day! And oh, it was worth it. Pictured above, the food Amanda and I shared:

- deviled eggs
- salt-packed slow-cooked filet, served cold with breadcrumbs, capers, and tomatoes (amazing)
- avocado sandwich on pain francese with ricotta cheese, tomato, and preserved lemon
- trout roe, grated radish, and brown butter

A+, would eat again.

  2. Yup, sprang for a DSLR (Canon Rebel T1i) while I was home. I'm more than a little in love.
